**Job Summary**

AECOM is actively seeking an experienced wetland ecologist/biologist for our Natural Resources Group. This position would support numerous natural resource projects in the southern California region with a focus on wetland delineation and related permitting projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Solve complex issues related to wetland ecology, wetland regulations, watershed planning, ecological restoration, conservation planning, and/or natural resources planning.

+ Play a role in marketing and business development efforts in pursuit of new projects.

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor’s Degree in related field (biology, ecology, etc.).

+ 5 years of experience.

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

+ Ability to create and maintain tracking spreadsheets and documents.

+ A strong background in wetland ecology and knowledge of permits and regulations of the waters of the U.S. and state of California; including experience with compensatory mitigation development.

+ Experience in biological survey fieldwork (coastal, inland, and desert) including conducting formal jurisdictional delineations is required.

+ Native plant species knowledge and identification, including field experience.

+ Knowledge of major state and federal agencies (e.g., USACE, USFWS, BLM, BOR, CDFG, RWQCB, and CCC) and major regulatory frameworks (e.g., NEPA, CEQA, ESA, CESA, CFGC, CWA and CCA).

+ Strong writing skills and experience completing formal jurisdictional delineation reports and preparing permit application packages (including CWA Section 404/401, CFGC Section 1600-1616, CCA Section 30600 CDP), Mitigation and Monitoring Plans, and EIR/EIS sections. Experience in agency coordination necessary to attain wetland permits is required.

+ Project management skills, including the ability to ensure projects stay on schedule, manage staff, budget and finances.

+ Experience in California is a must.

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Experience with field data collection tools such as Pendragon and Fulcrum.

+ Certified Practitioner for California Rapid Assessment Method for Wetlands and Riparian Areas (CRAM) – Riparian and Estuarine Modules, Southern California Coastal Water Research Project (SCCWRP).

+ Master’s Degree in related field (biology, ecology, or project management/controls) preferred.

+ Prior consulting experience strongly preferred.

+ Experience in southwest U.S. is also favorable.

+ Experience in wetland habitat restoration planning is favorable.
