Warehouse Associate Supervisor

Position Summary

The Associate Supervisor is responsible for first-line management, leadership, and overall performance of his/her department while developing and demonstrating proficiency in leadership competencies. This position is responsible for preparing and planning strategies to meet the departments daily, weekly, and monthly goals. Responsibilities also include effectively coaching and managing associates to high performance standards and recognizing individual and team success. The Associate Supervisor is responsible for operational excellence and the facilitys all-around success.

Primary Responsibilities:

Oversee department operation of up to 12 Associates, to ensure products get properly picked, packaged, and shipped out to customers for timely delivery.

Develops and executes daily and weekly action plans to meet department and location performance expectations. Achieves performance goals and objectives in the areas of productivity, accuracy and expense control, as depicted by the budget. Works to improve accuracy and customer service and quality levels in department.

Makes improvements to department processes and procedures and communicates with associates on changes and updates SOP as necessary.

Understands all safety procedures; ensures safe work practices are followed and maintains a safe work environment. Consults with leaders and associates to immediately address safety concerns.

Interviews and hires skilled associates and coordinates onboarding and training.

Responsible for coaching, counseling and motivating associates to attain optimum performance, productivity levels, and associate engagement. Conduct timely and valuable performance discussions.

Ensures communication and teamwork among team to aid in the accomplishment of the department objectives.

Looks for ways to improve and maintain engagement of department and location.

Ensure that all Company and HR Policies and Practices are followed and communicated to associates and practiced consistently. Consults with Supervisor/Manager and collaborates with HRAP Team as needed.

Develops and demonstrates proficiency of leadership competencies for emotional intelligence, team effectiveness, operational excellence, and associate engagement.

Acts as a Corporate Citizen, representing the FC and Staples in a positive and professional manner.

**Qualifications :**

Basic Qualifications:

Successful completion of SIT Program Phase I and/or previous equivalent experience

High School Diploma or GED required

1-3 years experience working in a warehouse environment

Eagerness and ability to learn, absorb new information quickly

Ability to work in fast paced, evolving environment

Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving ability

Demonstrated responsibility and leadership ability

Strong oral and written communication skills,

Be the owner/driver of your learnings: job skills, processes, procedures and relevant job knowledge

Possess a sense of urgency required to work in a deadline driven environment

Initiative to work with minimal instruction and direction

Knowledge of PC applications

Knowledge of warehouse systems, processes and productivity standards (WMS, computerized systems, SPC statistical process control and related ability to recognize, articulate and address variances in processes) a PLUS
