Job Description


The primary purpose of this position is to lead the development of company's loyalty and personalized marketing program, guided by an insights-based, customer-centric approach and leveraging modern tools, technologies and processes to grow profitable sales for Rite Aid.  The role will champion innovation and drive a digital-first mindset. This role will also lead the development of the company's Shopper Marketing proposition, leveraging supplier content and funding to activate the Rite Aid brand. 


The position will lead a team of managers and analysts, and be part of the company's commercial leadership team.  Accordingly, this executive leadership role will require strong leadership, collaboration, influence, and presentation skills.  Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aids brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.


The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  •  Grow profitable sales through the development of an advanced customer segmentation scheme and a sustainable, targeted 1:1 customer marketing plan that leverages Rite Aid customer data and appended data sets to deliver relevant offers and communications through partnerships with category management and supplier partners
  •  Develop tools, technologies and processes to facilitate and scale CRM, including an enterprise campaign management tool to enable ongoing loyalty program member communication across all channels including digital, mobile, direct and in-store delivery
  •  Lead the development, execution, delivery, analysis and evolution of all wellness+ program benefits to ensure the program remains compelling, competitively differentiating and profitable
  •  Develop a customer-centric approach for driving critical marketing, merchandising, and other business decisions across the organization by analyzing customer data to uncover meaningful and powerful insights.  Develop and evolve a robust Shopper Marketing program that leverage supplier content and investment to grow our mutual business
  •  Provide business partner leadership for development and ongoing execution of CRM IT support including development and review of PI, scope, and CER documents in support of capitalized development efforts
  • Support marketing and organization leadership in analysis and presentation of program performance to communicate to executives, board members, investor and shareholders


Supervisory Responsibilities

This position directly supervises Manager, Customer Loyalty, Manager, CRM Analytics , Shopper Marketing Resources TBD, and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Rite Aid policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints

Experience / Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in a marketing or CRM role and experience with direct marketing, validation, marketing analytics and advanced segmentation required
  • 5 years of experience in working with large datasets, data marts, IT support systems and retail offer delivery and redemption systems required
  • Or equivalent education in lieu of experience


  • Bachelors Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Business or Marketing required
  • Masters degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) Business or Marketing preferred
