As a result of a growing client base and increasing workflow, Gensler’s Tampa office is currently seeking a Technical Designer.


  • Direct the technical coordination and documentation for construction of the project

  • Provide assistance to the team during the design, planning and development phases with building technology and code compliance expertise

  • Coordinate the efforts of all members of the Project Team in finalizing the Contract Documents (project manual, specifications, bid and construction documents)

  • Conduct code evaluation and building technology review of the project

  • Provide input on technical issues

  • Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives

  • Coordinate and manage submittals for permit and Bid

  • Participate in the construction administration of project assignments, including submittals, RFI’s, site visits and project closeout

  • Coordinate work with other disciplines and consultants to meet overall project objectives


  • 5-10 years of related experience in a design firm.

  • Experience in interior architecture is highly recommented

  • BA in Interiors and/or Architecture

  • Must have STRONG Revit skills

  • Knowledge of building codes and jurisdictional requirements

  • Knowledge of latest building technologies and regulation issues

  • Leadership, organization, communication and relationship management skills

  • Flexibility to focus on a single client with a variety of project types or multiple projects in various stages of development

  • Ability to work with a large project team, across multiple offices

  • Experience with Illustrator, Photoshop or SketchUp desired

  • Licensure preferred
