Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE

The Sr Manager DC Field Operations will develop, implement, and manage the tactical execution of Design, Build, Sustainment (DBS) strategies for Home Depot distribution centers. In close coordination with the Director of DBS and in partnership with supply chain support functional departments and senior supply chain leaders, this role is responsible for planning, managing, and reviewing activities and operations throughout the supply chain including maintenance practices, vendor relationships, material handling systems, and automation required to support distribution centers. The Sr. Manager develops and execute strategies, initiatives and maintenance services in order to deliver safe, high performing facilities while maintaining fiscal responsibility.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


40%- Mechanized Maintenance Management – Ensure maximum system uptime, comply with budget goals and manage a comprehensive mechanized lifecycle/obsolescence plan and associated capital budget. Work with Regional Maintenance Managers (RMM s) and 3rd party maintenance providers to achieve these objectives.

20%- Strategic Initiative Development & Implementation – Identify, develop and implement new strategies designed to optimize the field maintenance resources, vendor relationships, assets, and best practices.

20%- Execution of Field Maintenance Programs – Work with RMM s to ensure the consistent execution of established best practices and existing field maintenance programs and routines.

20%- Manage Key Vendor Accounts – Oversee critical vendor accounts necessary for safe, efficient, and compliant field operations. Maintain relationships with a number of suppliers and vendors to ensure contracted goods and services are within scope of contract.

This position reports to the Director of Design, Build and Sustainment.
This role has direct reports. 

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS


Environment:


Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.

Travel:


Typically requires overnight travel 50% of the time.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience:
7 years

Physical Requirements:


Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).

Preferred Qualifications:

BS in Engineering - Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial field
Experience managing managers of facility level maintenance responsibilities
Extensive knowledge and experience with managing complex material handling projects from concept to successful implementation
Experience deploying Tool/Parts Crib management solutions
Experience to interpret and apply federal, state, local and system policies, procedures, laws and regulations

Project and process planning skills and budgeting experience
