Job Description

This individual will be the senior leader responsible for developing health plan (HP) business for Rite Aid.  The most immediate opportunities are around Risk Assessments and STARS. This leader will transact on this opportunity while continuously scanning the market for others worthy of pursuit. Similarly, Envision targets the HP segment, among others. The SVP in this role will have a dotted line to Envision CGO who will partner on Envision HP opportunities in order to ensure singular messaging to HPs with value proposition that represents the full spectrum of products and services available from Rite Aid and its subsidiaries. This includes Pharmacy Benefit Management services, Medicare Advantage Partnerships and STARS Risk Assessment, and other products and services delivered through Rite Aid proper.

 

The Senior Vice President, Health Plan Relations and Strategic Partnerships will:

  • Develop and grow the HP business and is accountable for developing and delivering on its profit and loss (P&L).
  • Lead the strategic design and evolution of products and services that drive value for HP customers (excludes Envision), and drive net new revenue and margin for Rite Aid. Lead product strategy, contracting strategy, account strategy and pricing for Rite Aid.
  • New business growth related to HP partnerships and strategic leadership over the positioning of HP agreements that drive compelling partnerships, contracting and payment models.
  • Proposal development for all non-Envision related HP agreements, and work with Envision CGO to bifurcate activities, processes and documents where necessary to ensure appropriate firewalls are maintained (e.g. pricing).
  • Strategy deployment and maintains relations across the entire range of HP products and services to include: Driving expansion of accounts based on key metrics defined in the account management strategy; Driving internal collaboration of the key leader counterparts to drive consumer growth and retention; Involving resources from the senior leadership team as needed to problem solve, collaborate and/or otherwise ensure client performance objectives and expectations are met.
  • Continuing knowledge of regulatory, industry changes and legislation that impact payors, providers and pharmacies and ensures strategic initiatives and operational agreements are aligned with possible future impacts. Functions as an expert on the payor segment in the context of the overall health care industry.
  • Identifying appropriate resources from partner subsidiaries including Health Dialog, RediClinc and otherwise needed to deliver on HP strategy.
  • Using competitive intelligence and internal/external data to analyze business opportunities, gross profit and market position to inform HP business strategies.

Experience / Requirements

  • 15 plus years experience in a highly complex, lean and multi-divisional organization.

Education

  • B.A./B.S. required in Business and Masters degree preferred.
