The Senior Product Engineer is a business partner to merchandising team managing and supporting private brands engineering projects. The Senior Product Engineer conducts industry performanceand consumer insights research; aligns benchmarking activities with Brand and theMerchandising team; and provides resolution of product performance concerns for hand tools, workbenches and tool storage systems.Having good business acumen and financial knowledge of key terms will aid the engineer in relating the information to the merchant community in a constructive and collaborative manner. The engineer works in a team environment and as an individual contributor.In depth understanding of hand tools, workbenches and tool storage systems design, manufacture, function, testing and regulatory standards is highly preferred. 
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• 40%-Engineering project management including benchmarking, product requirement development, and test protocol development. 
• 30%-Complete resolution of product performance concerns. 
• 20%-Collaborate with Global sourcing teams to onboard new products 
• 10%-Provide general product Engineering guidance and knowledge or evaluations as required to deliver short term business goals.

  Environment:
  Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  
  Travel:
  Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
