Position Description:
Position Purpose:
The Sr. Manager, Paid Media manages a team of associates responsible for executing and optimizing all paid media investments for THD (which amount to over $600m annually). This responsibility includes not only executing the previously agreed upon plans, but also requires a high level of critical thinking skills needed in order to leverage unexpected opportunities as these arise, and the ability to communicate and justify any changes to the broader media and merchandising teams. The ability to evaluate and synthesize data is also a prerequisite for success given the complexity of the multiple data sources used in the decisionmaking processes.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:

  • 30%-Execute Paid Media plans developed by the Media Strategy Team, which are in term informed by the long-term strategy and goals for Stores and HD.com.Online.
  • 25%-Develop feedback loop with the Media Strategy Team used to describe any changes/course corrections to these Media Plans based on opportunities that arise.
  • 15%-Select, develop, and motivate assigned staff.
  • 15%-Select and manage external vendors as needed to support appropriate media strategies
  • 15%-Develop reporting tools and monitor ongoing performance of homedepot.com’s activities against top industry benchmark
Nature and Scope:
This position reports to Director of Paid Media
This position has 4 Direct Reports

Environmental Job Requirements:
 Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Standard Minimum Qualifications:
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must pass the Drug Test.
Must pass Background Check.
Must pass pre-employment test if applicable.

Additional Minimum Qualifications:
Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Work Experience Required:
7 Minimum
Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7 to 10 years of experience actively managing and implementing large Paid Digital and Traditional Media Budgets at an agency and/or large retailer.
  • Previous experience with retail websites highly preferred.
  • Previous experience working with large established digital properties (such as Google, YouTube, Bing, Yahoo!), experience working with newer properties (such as Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter) a major plus.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies: 
  • Strong leadership abilities and experience managing teams and cross-functional work relationships, both internally and with external agency and media partners.
  • Strong presentation and writing skills are prerequisites for success due to the high amount of interaction with teams outside of the Paid Media team.
