Position Description:

The Senior Manager, CI Customer Analytics will be responsible for developing and executing against a strategy to identify opportunities to grow market share with The Home Depot’s Pro customers.  By applying advanced analytical techniques to internal and external sources of customer intelligence, this person will define B2B customer segments and create a holistic understanding of shopping and purchasing behaviors, preferences, and loyalty drivers to enable customer pipeline and lifecycle management.  The role will identify and establish processes for injecting advanced analytics into selling and marketing enablement opportunities.  The Senior Manager will contribute thought leadership to programs and projects across the team, coach direct reports, invest in the development of other team members, and serve as the primary point of contact for vendor partners.  Serve as a strategic and analytical partner with all areas of the organization, primarily but not limited to Pro Selling, Marketing, and Pricing teams.


  • 30%:  Partner with business to build relationships, identify selling and marketing enablement gaps; execute against a detailed roadmap to acquire, analyze, and translate data assets into actionable recommendations that enable effective B2B selling and marketing activities
  • 20%:  Implement sustainable processes that reach the field sales team to grow Pro customer share of wallet by ensuring adoption and integration of solutions
  • 25%:  Manage direct reports and develop their business acumen and analytical skills
  • 15%:  Develop and deliver effective presentations that summarize complex analyses and inform business decisions
  • 10%:  Act as primary point of contact for vendor relationships
  • Position reports to Senior Director 
  • This position has 3 direct reports


Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 5 years

Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree or MBA 
  • Experience using statistics/analytics in a business or marketing setting
  • Familiarity with extremely large customer and transaction-level data sets 
  • Retail experience and/or B2B exposure

  • Experience with writing database queries and working with enterprise database tools a plus
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • People management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and make decisions autonomously
  • Ability to formally and informally develop skills of other team members
  • History of outstanding performance in strategic thinking and analysis
  • Experience managing all aspects of discrete projects/work streams (relationship management, data collection, analysis, interpretation, document development, communication)
  • Ability to develop frameworks and approaches to break complex business questions into addressable pieces
  • Experience extracting data from and manipulating large data sets (using SAS, SQL, R, etc.) a plus
  • Familiarity with data mining statistical methods (Regression, factor analysis, clustering, etc.)
  • Experience with creative data visualization techniques
  • Experience developing executive-ready communication materials and presenting them to senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrates executive empathy through interpreting and translating outputs from complicated and nuanced analyses into digestible recommendations
  • Ability to work closely with peers in flat team structure
  • Demonstrated history of continuously learning new analytical techniques and approaches
  • Ability to interpret and translate outputs from complex analyses into business language
