**Job Summary**

AECOM continue to expand their successful and established Development team in Ireland and have a need for a Senior Development Engineer to join the Limerick office. Our Development Engineering team currently has a vacancy for a suitably qualified and enthusiastic Development Engineer experience of development engineering projects.

The Development team has an established track record of successfully delivering high profile development schemes and has a multi-disciplinary capability, offering staff the opportunity to work on a wide range of exciting Irish and International projects.

Committed to quality and high standards, our Development team provide innovative and reliable services to a range of clients. We provide development engineering, traffic and transport planning support to private sector clients from concept through to implementation. Our wide range of clients includes developers, retailers, land owners, house builders, corporate entities, blue chip companies and Universities.

The successful candidate should have a proven track record in supporting the delivery of innovative and cost effective solutions to development engineering projects. The role available will provide a range of challenging, dynamic and high-profile projects. Typical duties will include design and development of storm and foul drainage networks for housing, industrial and commercial applications. The use of industry standard software models including Microdrainage; knowledge of Flood risk assessments; drafting of design drawings (including where applicable 3D applications); report writing; site inspections; supervision of CAD Technicians to produce detail design drawings in an efficient manner ; management of project-related correspondence; providing support on project information concerning costs and programme.

The successful candidate should be an excellent communicator and able to work closely with private and public sector clients as well as multi-disciplinary teams in a fast paced environment. The role would ideally suit a self-motivated individual looking to advance their career in a dynamic team.

You will report to a company Director, and will be responsible for taking the lead on a variety of Civil infrastructure projects. Your duties will include the preparation of technical reports, liaising with stakeholders, and checking and reviewing designs. You will be encouraged to develop your career, and will take part in CPD initiatives to help you further develop your skills.

A selection of our current and recent projects includes:

+ Numerous development engineering projects for mixed-use, retail, commercial and residential developments.

+ Public Sector Infrastructure Schemes including Detailed Design of Cycle, Pedestrian and Bus improvements

+ Masterplanning advice on infrastructure deficiencies, upgrades etc. for developers on key strategic development schemes.

**Minimum Requirements**

**Relevant work experience in a design role with specific design experience in some/all of the following:**

+ Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems

+ Storm and foul gravity collection networks.

+ Storm and foul rising pumping stations and rising mains.

+ Water main distribution pipelines.

+ Attenuation and flow control elements.

+ Package wastewater treatment systems.

+ Section 50 applications and Flood Risk Assessments.

+ Familiar with Road and Pavement design including working knowledge of DMRB and DMURS.

+ Site suitability assessments and drainage planning requirements.

+ Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to integrate into the existing engineering team.

+ Knowledge of drainage design software such as WinDes (Microdrainage).

+ Experience in the preparation of Public Works Contracts and familiarity with the Capital Works Management Framework is desirable.

+ Knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3d, Revit or similar drafting and BIM packages.

+ Familiarity with and adherence to Engineers Ireland’s Code of Ethics and working towards obtaining the title of Chartered Engineer of Engineers Ireland.

+ Full Clean driving license

**Preferred Qualifications**


+ Candidates should have the following experience and qualifications; Hold a Level 8 degree in civil or transportation Engineering. Master’s Degree (level 9) is preferred but not essential.
