**Position Summary**

This candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our software application stack. The applications vary from our proprietary robotics execution system for our breakpack picking robots, to Android applications that assign tasks to our associates, and other applications that exist in our warehouses. The candidate will provide guidance to other software engineers on our team and perform code reviews to ensure that the delivered code is efficient, well-designed, and well-optimized.

**Primary Duties/Responsibilities**

+ Understand complex processes in topics such as logistics, warehouse management, automation, and robotics.

+ Capture business requirements to create a thorough technical solution.

+ Design, develop, implement and review software to meet business requirements.

+ Give guidance to other software engineers on our team or our vendors.

+ Perform code reviews to ensure software quality.

+ Quickly diagnose and troubleshoot errors that occur in both live production environments and testing environments.

+ Maintain an understanding of the various applications that interact with our warehouse.

+ Monitor the system performance and health.

+ Maintain an understanding of all internal and external application integrations.

+ Manage issues that can be fixed and enhancements that can be made to improve our software so that it becomes more robust, scalable, and efficient.

+ Work closely with cross functional teams.


**Essential Skills Required**

+ BS or MS in Computer Science or Software Engineering.

+ 8+ years of development experience in a variety of languages and frameworks and strong knowledge of object-oriented concepts.

+ Hands on experience with OOP, Java, C++, Python, Databases, and Linux.

+ Experience in HMI/GUI design using HTML, JavaScript, React, NodeJS.

+ Experience with database design in PostgreSQL and MySQL.

+ Experience with RESTful APIs.

+ Excellent understanding of automation and robotics.

+ Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps.

+ Experience with source control, code reviews, code coverage analysis, and bug tracking systems.

+ Must enjoy and be willing to learn new and emerging technologies.

+ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills in software.

+ Excellent written and oral communications skills, strong interpersonal skills, detail oriented and the ability to conduct meetings and presentations with associates from all levels of management.

**Preferred Skills**

+ Knowledge of Kotlin and Android development is a plus.

+ Developing cloud-native applications, such as Azure or Google Cloud, is a plus.

+ Experience in systems administration (configuring, managing, and maintaining computer networks and systems) is a plus.

+ Knowledge of logistics and warehouse management is a plus.

+ Job may require 0-10% travel.
