The position is part of the Research and Reporting team reporting to the Manager of Technical Accounting and Policy. Specifically, this role focuses on delivering value to the Company through a variety of tasks including the research and resolution of complex technical accounting matters and drafting technical accounting memos. Additionally, this role will assist in the implementation of new accounting standards, preparation and review of the Company’s accounting policy manual, contract review, and a variety of other accounting areas. This role will also work with the SEC reporting team in the preparation of regulatory filings (10-Q's and 10-K's). This position will have broad exposure to our business and interaction with various departments and business units.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Perform accounting research and memo preparation in order to resolve technical accounting issues internally, as well as with external auditors, for a variety of unusual and/or complex accounting areas.
• Assist and educate members of the finance organization and other areas of the business on the accounting treatment of new transactions or business initiatives on an as needed basis.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of the Company’s global accounting policy manual, including working with various stakeholders to draft and implement new accounting policies.
• Provide Manager of Technical and Policy with accounting research and diligence as necessary.
• Proactively evaluate the impact of new accounting pronouncements and assist with the overall implementation of new accounting guidance, including assistance with the facilitation of trainings on new accounting standards and policy implementation.
• Review significant contracts for accounting implications for all business units and corporate.
• Assist the SEC reporting team with 10-Q/10-K preparation and tie-out.

  • Reports to Manager, Technical Accounting and Policy
  • No associates report to this role on a permanent basis but requires the leadership of a work group: assign and review work, train and contribute to performance appraisal (but not hiring, firing or disciplinary action). 

    ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time..
