**Job Summary**

AECOM is actively seeking an experienced, creative, highly talented Safety Service Patrol Mechanic for immediate employment in the Virginia Beach, VA office.This position will be a direct report to the Regional Safety Service Patrol (SSP) Manager with direct staff communications throughout their region of responsibility.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Perform preventative maintenance on a variety of gasoline and diesel powered equipment vehicles such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, and wheel balances.

+ Inspection of fleet to ensure readiness and availability of vehicle

+ Analyze, perform diagnostic testing and repair of fleet vehicles

+ Knowledge of status and operations of fleet vehicles

+ Completion and upkeep of vehicular files containing history of performed maintenance and repairs

+ Verify vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives post repair to confirm mechanical soundness

+ Isolate cause of fleet malfunctions and make corrective repair to various systems or schedule repairs at expanded repair shop.

+ Maintain up-to-date training and certifications

+ Other ad-hoc initiatives as assigned by the Project Management Team

**Minimum Requirements**

+ State Driver’s License in good standing

+ Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification

+ Time management and prioritization of tasks

+ Adherence to all federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, regulations and standards related to traffic and motor vehicle operation and safety

+ Knowledge of tools and equipment required to conduct vehicle repairs

+ Willingness to consistently do their part to contribute and maintain a safe and secure workplace

+ Basic skill proficiency in the use of Windows based applications including Outlook, Internet Explorer, Word, and Excel

+ Ability to communicate clearly and concisely

+ Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in indoor and outdoor environments. Position requires frequent lifting of less than 25 pounds; often performing work with arms above shoulder level, repetitive bending/stooping, standing/walking, power gripping/squeezing (hand tools, levers, etc.), operation of vehicles, keyboard/mouse operations, and performing repetitive fine hand movements; occasionally working in an environment of heavy, moving, dangerous equipment, work in confined spaces, and lifting 25–50 pounds; rarely climbing stairs, and lifting of 50-75 pounds. Position will include wearing associated personal protective equipment, including safety shoes/boots, gloves, and safety glasses.

+ High degree of autonomy in carrying out responsibilities requires a strong sense of judgement and self-motivation to perform, while also working in a team, collaborative environment

+ Ability to work alternate work schedules in support of 24/7/365 operation center; Schedules are dictated by need of operation and stated in advance. Schedules will vary.

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Geographic familiarity with regional freeway system and arterial roads

+ Radio and telecommunications experience
