POSITION PURPOSE - Supports The Home Depot’s Risk Management Department, with a special emphasis on supporting captive initiatives, by analyzing performance of captive coverage lines, supporting regulatory/organizational needs of the captive, and assisting in the design of captive initiatives consistent with Risk Management’s philosophy.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES –

• Support the design, implementation, and refinement of insurance coverage opportunities in the captive.
• Build, maintain and refine processes for capturing captive data regarding retained risk to drive reporting efficiency.
• Analyze retained risk exposure within the captive to ensure the risk profile of the captive aligns with the department philosophy.
• Support insurance renewals, including the collection and validation of exposure data, completion of renewal applications, and regulatory/audit documentation.
• Support semi-annual actuarial review process by validating accuracy of loss data and coordinating with involved parties.
• Develop presentation materials for leadership surrounding new projects, insurance coverage, and conveying complex data in a digestible manner by specified deadlines.
• Other projects as assigned.
  • Assist in providing annual audit data for external, regulatory, and internal audit partners.
  • Track and reconcile claims activity within the captive.
  • Prepare, review, and send out monthly reports as required on specific captive programs.
  • Maintains compliance, regulatory and audit documentation to meet specified captive requirements.
  • Highlight discrepancies and/or concerns report findings to appropriate management.

    REQURIED QUALIFICATIONS –

    • Knowledge of risk management and insurance principals
    • Proficient in PowerPoint
    • Proficient in Excel, including knowledge of Pivot Tables, and VLOOKUP functions
      • Strong analytical, problem solving and judgment skills
      • Organization, planning and prioritization skills
      • Ability to manage deadlines and work under pressure at times

        PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS –

        • Knowledge of captive insurance companies
        • Experience in managing data and building reports for insurance programs
        • Experience with large data sets and consolidating multiple data sets findings in streamlined reporting
          • Experience reviewing financial statements

            
            NATURE AND SCOPE - Typically reports to Director of Risk Management with no direct responsibility for supervising others.
            
            ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
