**Job Summary**

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Resident Engineer for immediate employment for a project in Kent, WA. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

+ Oversees the administration of projects during the construction phase including technical, financial, and client satisfaction

+ Administer construction contracts on behalf of various public agencies

+ Resolve construction issues in the field

+ Conduct meetings with client and general contractor in the field, as required

+ Work directly with the client and contractor to meet the needs of the project

+ Ability to manage multiple projects and provide guidance to support personnel on the projects

+ Communicate with the project team and Client throughout the project

+ Oversee the Quality Assurance and Control on a project

+ Present job progress and issues in meetings with the client

+ Prepare daily reports for each individual project

+ Manages the project budget

+ Reviews and provides recommendations on contractors' CPM baseline construction schedules and schedule updates

+ Performs day-to-day contract administration including assisting in bid analysis, pre-construction meetings and related award coordinating activities

+ Review contractor submittals, schedule of values, and responds to contractor inquiries, ensuring that contract specifications are met.

+ Manages and coordinates project team and contractors in communicating directives and ensuring the project scope is built according to plans, specifications, and cost limits

+ Obtains responses to requests for clarification from contractors and keeps a log of such requests

+ Reviews applications for payment, and performs fiscal management of project resources

+ Negotiates with contractors to achieve a fair and reasonable cost for change orders and reviews their impact on the project

+ Prepare change order backup packages including cost estimates and justification memos

+ Perform other Construction Management functions as assigned

+ Communication with PM and other AECOM office staff

+ Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including understanding of current business trends

+ Acts as advisor to other project team members to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems

+ Accountable for the development, coordination, and execution of the planning, design and/or construction management activities and personnel under his/her direction on a day-to-day basis

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a closely related field

+ 7+ years of bridge and heavy highway construction experience, including 2+ years on Transportation, Bridge or Highway construction projects

+ Thorough knowledge of engineering disciplines, construction technologies and job site management

+ Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel to locations around the state

+ Capable of managing small to medium size projects/contracts ($1 - $20million)

+ Ability to manage multiple projects within a large geographical area

+ Thorough knowledge of contract administration and office procedures for federally funded transportation projects

+ Very good people and communication skills

+ Capable of walking on rough, uneven, and slippery terrain

+ Capable of lifting 30 pounds

+ Capable of using ladders, climbing, and accessing hard to reach areas that are common on transportation construction projects

+ Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Experience working with public agencies

+ A valid Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer, or a valid Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction Manager Certification Institute/CMAA (CMCI)

+ Experience of the design phase of projects and strong design understanding
