**Job Summary**

AECOM’s UK Environment & Planning team is looking to recruit an individual with experience in project financial management and administration to join our Wimbledon office. In particular, we are looking for an individual with experience using financial software tools to financially manage budgets and track project costs (typically from less than £5K up to £5M) and provide project managers with support on the financial aspects of project delivery. The successful candidate will have a track-record in project financial administration, with strong problem solving and communication skills and a high attention to detail.

The role will comprise working on a portfolio of projects spanning several offices, providing financial project management support and so helping to deliver improved financial forecasting and improved cost control. The projects, led by technical project managers, will be environmental and social impact assessments and other environment- and planning-related projects. The Regional Financial Project Manager will take on the financial project management tasks on ORACLE and AECOM’s dedicated finance software package, ePM. The successful candidate will closely with Project Management Assistants (PMAs), local team leaders and the London and South East management team. The Regional Financial Project Manager will be based in the Wimbledon office but be expected to travel periodically to other offices (for example Aldgate, Cambridge and St Albans).

Our UK Environment & Planning business, which sits within the Environment and Ground Engineering division, comprises over 200 people across approximately 20 offices. In London and the South East we have a team of around 70 individuals undertaking environmental and social impact assessment and other environment- and planning-related projects. Typically there are up to around 200 different projects running at any one time led by the E&P team based in London and the South East. These projects, typically short to medium term, are managed within the AECOM ePM software program (project accounting tool), ABC (used to manage billing to clients) and AGIS (used to manage accounts payable). In addition, ORACLE-based tools are used for time sheet recording and expenses and a separate system, maintained by a third party, for travel-related costs. These tools are supported by individuals within a number of AECOM’s operations teams e.g. billing team, AIMS team and accounts payable team.

**Job responsibilities:**

+ Fulfil a project financial management role, in liaison with the technical project managers, to support in project delivery

+ Report to and work with our regional management team

+ Liaison with the technical Project Managers, complete financial estimates and forecasts each month (or quarter depending on the project).

+ Track financial estimates completion weekly across London and South East E&P projects, obtaining input from technical project managers as required.

+ Upload subcontractor and intercompany invoices to AGIS for payment.

+ Track subcontractor and intercompany invoices received and sent for payment until payment received. Work with technical project managers proactively to resolve any issues/ensure prompt payment in line with contract terms.

+ Work with our third party travel agents to resolve any issues around posting of expenses to jobs in liaison with technical project managers.

+ Liaise with the technical project managers and the billing team to bill clients (using ABC) in accordance with the agreed contract terms and ensuring invoices are accurate.

+ Work with technical project managers and finance teams to resolve any issues proactively.

+ Work with and assist Project Manager Assistants in the E&P team, with setting up new jobs, uplifting budgets and in completing re-evaluation updates (for non GBP jobs).

+ Understand and comply with AECOM’s quality and health & safety requirements.

+ Provide ad hoc support as required to technical project managers.

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Previous relevant experience in financial project administration/control

+ Excellent numeracy

+ Highly motivated and able to work with limited direction

+ Excellent IT skills, attention to detail and highly proactive

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Degree in Project Management, Business, Quantity Surveying or similar

+ Expected relevant chartership, such as but not limited to, APM, PRINCE2, RICS.
