**Job Summary**

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Project Biologist for immediate employment for the Baton Rouge, LA office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

+ Conduct wetlands and stream delineations

+ Prepare all necessary documents required for wetlands permitting

+ Conduct all studies related to CWA §316(b)

+ Prepare all reports related to CWA §316(b)

+ Conduct field studies related to natural resources, environmental fisheries, protected species, habitat assessments, aquatic and terrestrial resources surveys, and related parameters

+ Manage all aspects of natural resources projects

+ Prepare natural resources technical reports

+ Assist with preparation of NEPA, EIS, and BA documents

+ Coordinate with local, state and federal resources agencies with regard to wetlands, natural resources, NEPA, EIS and related studies and/ or permitting

+ Work in support of regional program areas related to natural resources, coastal restoration, coastal zone management, and others

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries Ecology/ Fisheries Management/ Fisheries – Natural Resources

+ 8+ years’ experience

+ Working knowledge of fish species identification of the southeastern US including Gulf of Mexico coastal species

+ Working knowledge of all aspects of CWA §316(b)

+ Working knowledge of US Army Corps of Engineers requirements for wetlands delineation, wetlands permitting/ application submittal, mitigation, and associated coastal use permit/ joint permit application aspects

+ Successful completion of wetlands delineation training course based on the 1987 Wetlands Delineation Manual

+ Working knowledge of wetland and upland plant identification within the Gulf south

+ Working knowledge of environmental permitting including T&E species and all associated field surveys

+ Be able to demonstrate strong technical writing capabilities

+ Must possess a valid Louisiana driver’s license

+ Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ 5+ years’ experience in the environmental consulting industry

+ Working knowledge/ experience of USACE – New Orleans District wetlands permitting, application submittal, mitigation, etc.

+ Working knowledge/ ability to identify larval fishes

+ Working knowledge of environmental sampling of water, soils, sediments
