Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
The Project Manager Assortment Planning will provide subject matter expertise, project management, and analytical support to merchandising decisions made by key business stakeholders to include Merchants, DMMs, RMMs, FDMMs, and other organization-wide leaders. This position is responsible for executing formal engagements with a number of cross-functional teams and business partners should see the ideal candidate as a thought leader on category and assortment strategy. The Project Manager should be an advocate for implementing assortment and merchandising planning best practices across the business.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
60% -Work in collaboration with Merchants and/or cross-functional leaders to determine engagement goals and objectives, conduct analysis to identify key drivers of performance, and recommend assortment and merchandising decisions that will improve performance.
-Typical analysis will include: (a) marketplace and macroeconomic trends impacting the company including competitive assessment and external market share, (b) metric level exceptions including space capacity, in-stock rates, sales growth trends, and CAGR and vitality deep dives, (c) line structure, (d) store classification and clustering, (e) customer and store feedback, (f) identifying key product attributes and (g) market level performance.
20% -Leverage Tableau, cloud-based solutions and other business applications to build and refine analytics for use by other team members. Work in partnership with internal and external experts. Manage external relationships and engagements, when required
20% -Serve as analytical subject matter expert for key projects impact direct and broad Assortment Planning team. Scale best-practice analytics to full AP team.

NATURE AND SCOPE
Reports to a Sr Manager of Assortment Planning.
This position has no direct reports.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel:

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Additional Minimum Qualifications:
Experience working with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Tableau
Experience communicating ideas and results to leaders

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 3 years

Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in merchandising, planning and analysis
Strong analytical skills including demonstrated aptitude with financial analysis and ability to generate insight from large and complex data sets
Strong communication skills including the ability to effectively articulate viewpoint to executive leadership and ability to write compelling executive level presentations
Strong project management skills and ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies:
Ability to partner with cross-functional teams at all levels across a complex organization
Ability to get results despite a large workload, competing demands and working in a fast-paced environment
Ability to effectively prioritize multiple demands, adjust to change quickly and work constructively under pressure
Ability to structure nebulous projects and to work constructively under tight deadlines
Ability to influence peers and business partners without authority
