Position Description:
Order Fulfillment Associates are responsible for preparing all customer order types (BOPIS, BOSS, CPO, Will Calls, Store to Store, Delivery) including but not limited to picking, staging, and loading orders onto trucks. The condition of the product upon pick and stage and the timeliness of picking orders can largely shape the customer service experience for Home Depot s Customers. Because the Order Fulfillment Associate is many times the last Associate to interact with a Customer, the level of service they provide is vital to the overall business of Home Depot. It is essential that the Order Fulfillment Associate gain familiarity with the products, product location, and store layout to provide the most efficient and highest quality service to our Customers. Maintaining a high level of professionalism and following Home Depot s safety policies and procedures are critical to performing the duties of a Order Fulfillment Associate. Each associate has the responsibility of providing a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies & standards, completing specified safety training, immediately correcting hazards & unsafe conditions or reporting conditions to the Manager On Duty, and working safely as not to endanger themselves, co-workers, vendors, or customers.
- Pull Inventory
Execute all steps of product fulfillment by picking and staging all customer orders with pick stickers attached; within appropriate service level agreement timing expectations (BOPIS/BOSS - 2 hours, CPO - 30 Minutes)
Ensure all orders are picked and staged for next day s deliveries; Confirm product is damage free, of good quality, accurately bundled and timely
Work with Delivery Will Call Associates, other Order Fulfillment Associates, Loaders and department associates to ensure orders are fulfilled on time and picked/staged accurately
Ensure paperwork/customer contact information is available for the driver each time potentially hazardous materials are included in a delivery
Maintain an uncluttered Customer Order storage area, ensuring that items are properly labeled/located and staged for customer pickup
Pack and label orders carefully to ensure that products do not get damaged and can withstand the turbulence encountered on a delivery truck
Check with department areas for availability of stocked items
Cooperate with other Associates to complete tasks
-Support Customers First Priority
Effectively assist customers in all areas of the store by proactively approach and greet Customers, answer questions about merchandise.
Ensure Deliveries, Will Calls, BOPIS, BOSS, and CPO are on time, complete, and damage free
Ask open-ended questions and express interest in projects in order to put the Customer at ease and determine Customers needs and level of expertise
Answer questions about merchandise and describe features and benefits of merchandise
Explain steps needed to complete projects and the products needed and suggest related items/services outside of department that Customers may need
When not fulfilling orders, assist at Service Desk
Use proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and safe lifting techniques
Ensure that loading areas are safe and uncluttered
Adhere to and follow all Safety Policies & Standards
Offer assistance to customers who are shopping in an unsafe manner
Immediately correct unsafe conditions or notify Manager on Duty
Tie knots properly to secure materials on customer vehicles
Has no direct reports.
Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, fumes or odors.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Additional Environmental Job Requirements:

Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

Physical Requirements:
Must continuously stand or walk or regularly requires lifting/handling/carrying material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).
