**Job Summary**

AECOM is actively recruiting for a mid-level Engineer for work in the area of Technical / Engineering Services for Navy Submarines. This position provides contractor technical support services for the VIRGINIA (SSN 774) Class Submarine Program Management Office (PMS450) in support of the Technical Division (PMS450T).

General duties include assisting government and assigned contractor support personnel in the Program Office management and oversight of design, construction, and maintenance of the Submarine Hull, Mechanical & Electrical Systems aboard VIRGINIA Class Submarines, with emphasis in the support of the Materials / Hull / Structures management team.

Specific duties include:

+ Provide technical and management review and assessment support for drawings, engineering reports, procurement specifications, purchase orders, material ordering data, parts lists, qualification data, test plans and procedures, and other design and long lead material planning documentation.

+ Maintain complete files of all correspondence, drawings, and other documentation necessary to support the Materials SIT Leader. Maintain files to document all decisions and rationale employed. Develop and maintain databases for file tracking and retrieval as necessary.

+ Provide design improvements and recommendations based upon the review and assessment of products associated with the Materials SIT.

+ Provide technical support to the Materials SIT for welding issues.

+ Draft, review and distribute technical letters and other similar correspondence which clearly convey the consensus reached within NAVSEA and other stakeholders to respond to the ship builders’ requests for approval in the fabrication, inspection, test, and delivery process.

+ Act as a liaison with other PMS450 team members and SEA05 Technical Warrant Holders (TWHs) to assist with administrative and technical inquiries related to distribution and soon to be distributed correspondence.

+ Provide meeting support including development and preparation of briefing materials, and efforts associated with the planning, execution and follow-up of action items.

+ Participate in meetings organized by various PMS450 Project Officers to communicate the status, priority and impact of distributed and soon to be distributed correspondence.

**Minimum Requirements**

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related scientific field and at least 10 (ten) years of job-related experience or equivalent. Two years of job-related experience may be substituted for each year of college. An active Government Security Clearance, i.e., an in-scope Background Investigation with Access having been granted within the previous two years, at the SECRET level.
