**Job Summary**

The PMO Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Civil Engineer for immediate employment in the Newark, DE office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in design / engineering, specific to civil design projects. The incumbent can look forward to projects including chemical, municipal and state agency clients.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Researches feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions and regulatory agency specifications

+ Preparation of storm water calculations and plans

+ Preparation of contour / grading plans consisting of intermediate and final grading plans with appropriate cross sections

+ Fundamental understanding of processes as it relates to water and waste water treatment

+ Capable of analyzing port, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, traffic data, and area photographs of soil compensation, terrain, hydrologic, hydraulic characteristics, and other topographical and geographical data to plan and design a project.

+ Familiarity with commissioning and start-up of water treatment systems

+ This position requires the flexibility to serve as a cross-disciplinary resource to best serve the needs of the AECOM Corporation

+ Interacts regularly with clients to expand work assignments or market new work

+ Provides support to Project Managers in the areas of; submittal review, design support, schedule preparation / updating, compliance support for AECOM’s Quality Management System

+ Assistance with proposals to provide services or obtain funding for engineering projects or programs

+ Plans and prepares, or reviews technical specifications according to the contract documents

+ Knowledge of the installation and construction techniques required in the field and the potential obstacles that may be encountered

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Water Engineering

+ 5+ years working as a Civil/Water Engineer

+ EIT designation required

+ Specific software experience: Microsoft Office, excel

+ Work will include verifying applicable codes and engineering standards / practices are being met

+ Traveling will be required as determined by the project

+ Candidates need to be able to multi-task, meet project deadlines and work in a team environment

+ The position will require excellent technical writing and communication skills

+ Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

+ Due to the nature of this work, qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test

+ Able to travel as required by projects (20%). Typically the Northeast region of the US

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Master's degree in Civil Engineering preferred\\

+ Registration and designation as a Professional Engineer (PE) not required, but would enable assignment flexibility
