Position Description:

Position Purpose:

Reporting to the Director of Space Planning, the Manager leads a team of analysts serving as dedicated partners and advisors for Merchandising on all matters related to space planning and analytics.  In addition to prioritizing planogram deliverables, this role will proactively guide team members to identify and address improvement opportunities in the areas of planogram health, space allocation, and merchandising assortments in order to drive sales, increase turns, and maximize profit.  This role will partner closely with merchants, space analysts, suppliers, store planning, project planning, and visual merchandising to lead the delivery of planogram outputs, analytical insights, and recommendations to solve complex business problems and improve space productivity.  The manager will also maintain ownership for space metrics and overall quality of planograms and analysis provided by the team.  Lastly, this role will maintain responsibility for assessing business processes and developing new ways to drive efficiencies for the space planning team, collecting and incorporating business customer feedback to improve service levels, and leading strategic initiatives to advance the program.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:

  • 30% - Analysis: Manage identification, prioritization and development of space planning analytics to produce actionable insights for merchants that drive space productivity growth
  • 20% - Execution: Manage project timelines to ensure Space Planning deliverables are met and provide a high quality deliverable for business customers
  • 20% - Strategy: Lead improvement initiatives that build effective team processes, improve service levels, and support program growth
  • 10% - Collaboration: Participate in weekly meetings with cross-functional teams to participate in business discussions and provide space planning expertise, contributing to strategic merchandising plans for the business.
  • 10% - Team Development: Manage associate development through training, feedback and the implementation of development plans.
  • 10% - Problem Solving: Troubleshoot issues as they arise and resolve problems that affect space planning deliverables.
  • Supports other tasks and duties as business needs dictate.

    Nature and Scope: 
    This position reports to the Director, Space Planning. 
    Direct reports include Sr. Analysts Space & Merchandising Analytics and Space Planning Analysts.

    Located in a comfortable indoor area. 
    Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. 

    Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
