The Finance Business Services (FBS) team serves as a strategic and innovative partner focused on supporting business growth, as part of a world-class controllership organization. 

The Procurement Operations Manager is accountable for directing teams, ensuring excellent customer service, and seeking to continuously improve processes and delivery. This role directs overall procurement operations activities for the Procure to Pay (P2P) tower. Persons in the role has broad knowledge of procurement and finance and will strategize with project teams, external business partners, and leaders to solve complex business challenges. In this role, you will work closely with the P2P Process Owner to align on the strategic roadmap and delivery of transformational and innovative projects. Procurement Operations Manager will be a strategic decision maker, provide coaching to team members, along with supporting their development of business and technical skills. The individual in this role will have proven experience leading people and for guaranteeing daily service delivery to multiple stakeholders across the company.

As a Procurement Operations Manager, you will work closely with leaders across the organization to align and implement strategies and to ensure information is shared and transactions are completed effectively. These responsibilities require effective communication skills, building relationships and partnerships, and leveraging business proficiency to suggest solutions and provide recommendations. This role is expected to lead collaboration and improvement efforts, align strategies, and effectively manage talent.  The Procurement Operations Manager is a highly visible role across the enterprise.

 

Key Responsibilities and Tasks     

Operational Duties & Oversight (25%)

  • Monitors team(s) progress against departmental goals.
  • Monitors team(s) daily activities.
  • Leads regular team meetings to address operations topics, improvements and projects that require monitoring and resolution.
  • Serves as the second level escalation for risks and issues.
  • Provides updates and recommendation to leaders at all levels of the organization on short- and long-term objectives and policies, program effectiveness, team accomplishments, summary of findings, and explain internal and external impacts.
  • Oversees the administration of policies.

    People Management & Team Leadership (20%)             

    • Provides leadership, mentorship and coaching to managers and team; ensures teams are supported.
    • Provides guidance on a regular basis, keeps connected with the team.
    • Provides performance reviews and timely feedback to direct reports regarding performance, execution, and contribution.
    • Recruits and hires staff.
    • Manages the different team members with respect for all people, coaching them for bringing up the strengths and skills that will set a successful group of highly motivated and strong performers.
    • Fosters collaboration with team members; develops a supportive and engaged team.

      Continuous Improvements & Controls (25%)

      • Participates in the continuous improvement of FBS processes.
      • Oversees Internal Controls and drives compliance.             
      • Works closely with controls and compliance teams.

        Collaboration (15%)

        • Prioritizes and assigns projects using factors such as funding, return on investment, innovation, or challenging work.
        • Manages programs for the team to ensure consistency of execution, balance of resources and quality solutions.
        • Collaborates with program managers and business partners to align on objectives and expectations and ensure project teams deliver against them.

          Strategy Mindset (15%)

          • Leads transformational projects defined in conjunction with other areas or teams. Support the planning, execution and allocation of resources needed to run the project.
          • Continuously aims to create shareholder value by proposing and supporting transformational ideas and projects.
          • Drives adoption of leading-edge techniques and methods, both predictive and prescriptive.

            Nature and Scope            

            • Position reports to Sr. Manager Procurement Operations
            • This position has a Sr. Analyst as a direct report and manages an offshore team. 
            • Typically requires overnight travel 0-10% of the time.             

              Physical Job Requirements           

              • Most of the time spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about.    
              • On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.        

                Working Conditions        

                • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
