Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE:

The Manager Inventory Planning will support Depot Direct and drive change & growth in the business. In addition, the manager will support several key strategic initiatives and improve the overall customer buying experience.

Lead Depot Direct Strategic Initiatives:

  • Develop & modify short term/long term Depot Direct inventory strategies (KPIs, best practices, etc.) to support an evolving appliance business & execute merchandising strategies

    Optimize Work Flows:

    • Lead Analyst/Sr. Analysts through complex and often ambiguous environments to support DD-specific objectives & strategies
    • Translating merch leadership requests into consumable tasks and delegating to appropriate analyst/sr. analyst
    • Streamlining and balancing daily workload and responsibilities between associates to support growing number of cross functional partners (Delivery, Forecasting, IT, Finance, BI, etc.)

       Innovation:

      • Further develop relationship with the Delivery team to identify and overcome obstacles during the customer delivery experience
      • Lead process improvement culture and foster creativity to improve overall customer experience
      • Drive continuous improvement approach towards problem-solving to address opportunities at the root cause

         Associate Development:

        • Provide feedback on performance to support associate growth and create SMART goals to monitor progress
        • Understand associates’ career goals and personal interests; seek creative ways to develop desired skillset outside of Depot Direct
        • Collaborate with associates to determine additional business functions that could benefit from associates’ current skillset

          Communication:

          • Create executive ready communications to define the evolving DD inventory environment
            MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

            • 25%- Strategic Planning - Set a vision for the future to drive sales, margin & turns. Determine specific goals and measure the team's progress towards achieving them. Participate in transformational Supply Chain initiatives that result in improved service levels, costs, or product availability.
            • 25%- Tactical Implementation of Replenishment Plans - Translate high level organizational objectives into specific replenishment plans. Routinely analyze inventory performance and modify replenishment tactics as necessary to drive ongoing improvement to sales, margin and turns.
            • 25%- Customer Support & Managing Internal Relationships - Meet with internal customers to understand their needs; incorporate feedback from these stakeholders into replenishment strategies. Collaboratively plan for promotions, advertisements, and new product introductions. Work cross-functionally to resolve product availability issues
            • 25%- Manage Resources - Grow and develop a team of direct reports. Recognize and reward team accomplishments; attract and retain talented individuals. Eliminate roadblocks that stand in the way of the team s success. Delegate tasks and ensure execution. Provide clear direction and help team members navigate through ambiguity.
              NATURE AND SCOPE: Reports to Sr. Manager Inventory Planning.

              ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

              Environment: Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

              Travel:  Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
