The Manager, Consolidations is a key leadership role within The Home Depot’s (the “Company’s”) Corporate Controller Team (“CCT”).  This position is responsible for leading a team tasked with accurate legal entity reporting within the Company including subsidiaries and is a key financial contact for the Company’s subsidiaries, including all non-US entities. This position will develop governance and policies over the legal entity reporting function. Additionally, this role plays an integral part in the following activities: managing the relationship with the Company’s subsidiaries; ownership of legal entity financials at the end of each reporting period; external and internal financial reporting and related SOX internal controls; statutory financial statement preparation and audit coordination; and leading key legal entity accounting functions, including review of all of the Company’s intercompany related transactions, development of legal entity accounting policies, other comprehensive income, balance sheet and income statement variance analysis and the foreign exchange process, among others.  

This individual is also responsible for understanding the Company and its subsidiaries' businesses and known trends in order to complete the Company’s Forms 10-Q and 10-K/Annual Report.  Further, this role is a key point of communication with many stakeholders, including Tax, Legal, Compensation and Benefits, SEC Reporting, and the operational accounting teams.  The Manager, Consolidations will also lead and manage cross-functional transformation and automation initiatives to meet the dynamic nature of the Company’s business.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Legal entity reporting and related financial information including foreign currency translation and intercompany eliminations
• Coordination of legal entity related accounting matters with all stakeholders
• Drive implementation of legal entity accounting policies and procedures
• Lead process and system improvement efforts in the legal entity and Consolidations accounting teams cross-functionally across and beyond the CCT
• Development and supervision of Consolidations staff
• Analysis of legal entity results and coordination of explanations of variances to previous periods and/or forecasts
• Preparation of MD&A and other documentation for the Company's public filings
• Assistance to the remainder of the Consolidations team when necessary

  • Typically reports to Senior Manager, Consolidations
  • Accountable for the management of a department or functional group through subordinate team members and for all personnel issues -- including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates

    ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
    • Requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
