**Job Posting Title** : Inside Sales Account Specialist



**Role Summary:**


The Account Specialist works with new and existing small to medium potential inside accounts to grow and retain their business. Account Specialists engage customers remotely by phone, video, and digital communication to build and maintain relationships with key buying influences to expand sales into new lines of business as well as facilitating introductions to our category experts for more complex business needs. A typical work week consists of both inbound and outbound customer engagement activities as well working with internal teams to create a great customer experience.



**What youll be doing:**


Establish strong relationships with high potential customers via phone, video, and/or digital correspondence to drive incremental sales growth and customer retention


Execute on short- and long-term strategic plans to grow sales, margin, and membership program sales within an assigned book of business


Leverage partnerships with various internal partners to drive growth and ensure customer satisfaction. This includes, but is not limited to Category Sales Specialists, Sales Operations and Customer Service Teams


Use Professional Selling Skills (PSS) to identify customer needs and develop a value-added proposition, proposal & pricing


Oversees pricing negotiations and influences on the spot pricing decisions in order to cultivate a seamless customer experience


Consistently meet activity goals and daily metrics - outbound dials, sell time, and live contacts


Uncover opportunities and manage sales funnel to close opportunities


Responsible for setting your schedule and maintaining calendar of appointments with customers and for participating in all Company objectives and Team activities

Drive sales and margin growth through both inbound and outbound sales activities


Drive customer retention through both proactive and reactive customer engagements


Responsible for identifying and winning opportunities through funnel process leading to quota attainment

Builds account specific plans to grow accounts


Responsible for sales and margin goals as set by the SLT within assigned business

Integrates feedback from customers into their sales approach


Works to provide Staples solutions to customer challenges and situations


Provides critical feedback from customers to leadership and support teams

Price negotiations


Problem solving for customer complaints


Billing Issues


Delivery issues

**External communication**


Proactive customer facing communication both written and over the phone


Reactive customer facing communication both written and over the phone



**Internal communication**


Account Specialists communicate with individual contributors in across various support and Lines of Business (LOB) teams


In certain instances, the Account Specialist needs to be able to communicate up one or two levels within the organization



**What you bring to the table:**


Previous experience with virtual selling or relevant career experience or education background


Prior management and prospecting experience


Had responsibility for a sales budget and track record of exceeding quota, activity metrics, KPIs


Experience with business-to-business sales process


Had responsibility to retain and grow accounts and demonstrated the ability to sell company values and services, in addition to program features and benefits


Effective communication and relationship building skills


Experience in a structured environment


Strong time management skills


Adaptable to a fast-paced organization



**Qualifications :**



**Whats needed - Basic Qualifications:**


1-3 years successful sales experience



**Whats needed Preferred Qualifications:**


High School Diploma or GED Equivalent


Sales related experience


B2B work experience


Proficient with MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint


Strong communication skills;active listener


Experience building customer relationships


Strong organization and time management skills


Account management experience


Solution oriented, self-starter and results oriented


Proven ability to meet or exceed incremental sales and gross profit goals - growing sales and margin within current customer base


Adaptable to Change


Coachable, able to incorporate feedback


Ability to work in a team sales environment


Industry knowledge a plus
