Position Description:

POSITION PURPOSE

Leads the Marketing team for The Company Store, a Home Depot company, developing and executing Marketing and Media strategies to drive business growth.  Based in Weehawken, New Jersey, this key executive will assume end to end Marketing Leadership for this business inclusive of customer acquisition, loyalty, and brand engagement.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Drive the overall marketing strategy and execution.  This includes overseeing ongoing performance, developing and implementing strategic improvements to The Company Store’s business and participating in the development of the Company’s strategic plan.
  • Develop a top-tier marketing organization dedicated to helping the company attain its growth and profitability goals. Develop a can-do, goal-oriented, entrepreneurial environment that stresses employee performance, teamwork, management credibility and success.  Cultivate a high-performance team through coaching and feedback.
  • Drive and manage new business initiatives and objectives to support company growth, while representing marketing as one of the senior leaders in the company.  Works closely senior leadership at The Company store and Home Depot to ensure Marketing effectiveness
  • Plans and drives execution across all marketing / media channels including performance marketing (digital, social, and organic), catalog circulation & targeting, and tradition channels such as TV and radio.  The director will collaborate across all areas of the business (merchandising, product development, sourcing, and finance) and external agencies to drive alignment and consistent execution of the media strategy and tactics.
  • Develop and manage marketing budgets and all marketing related expenses driving revenue and efficiency of marketing spend


ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment: 
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel: 

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 10 years

Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

With a well-developed marketing orientation, this executive has been demonstrating the capacity to develop breakthrough online marketing programs, while also leveraging all forms of print and email communication to drive customer loyalty.
  • Proven collaborative leader and team builder: The successful candidate will bring exceptional smarts, superior team management and proven leadership capabilities. He/she will have previously built teams including attracting and developing a high- performing, engaged team, who have gone on to build records of success. Additionally, the executive should have a track record of unifying different functional and business line leaders around an overall vision for marketing growth. He/she will have demonstrated ability to think strategically and act as a thought partner with senior management.

 Additional Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success as Chief Marketing Officer, Head of Marketing, Marketing Director or another senior role at company with revenue of at least $100MM
  • Experience managing significant budgets across digital and traditional forms of marketing
  • Demonstrable experience designing and implementing successful marketing campaigns
  • Advanced knowledge of all media channels including:  Paid, Earned, Broadcast, Direct mail and PR
  • 15+ years Marketing experience working for e-commerce retailers
  • A strong leadership background is required, as well as a proven track record of exceptional performance in a similar senior digital marketing function.
  • Innovator with a track-record of leveraging data-driven marketing channels and brand awareness to drive new customers and significant revenue expansion
  • Mature, confident member of the senior management team, who contributes to the development of the “big picture” and organizational priorities.
  • Ability to frame and implement change
  • Intellectually curious; analytical and detail-oriented; deals with concepts and complexity comfortably; described as intellectually sharp, capable and agile.
  • High energy, hands-on, “roll-up-your-sleeves” attitude.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or advanced degree
