Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
The Director of Sales Strategy reports to the General Manager and is responsible for creating and managing sales enablement programs to increase efficiency and productivity for the Home Depot Measurement Services (HDMS) organization. The Director of Sales Stratgey will focus on defining and implementing the end to end flooring customer life cycle. This is role with responsibility for all aspects of sales operations, including defining the strategic plan, organizational design/alignment, sales analysis, recommendations for improvements in sales effectiveness, competitive intelligence and input into trends, and market changes that can affect the sales and productivity. Collaborating with stakeholders in Sales, Marketing, Merchandising, Learning, Operations and other cross-functional teams, this position will conduct needs analysis and develop resources to address gaps and opportunities for improvement in the selling processes.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
20% Conduct business analysis to identify gaps in current sales strategy. Design and implement new sales strategy for the HDMS organization. After implementation continue to conduct cost analysis and redefine sales strategy based on market trend. Serve as a feedback loop for Flooring (D23) on process improvements.

20% Proactively engage key stakeholders to understand current processes, contribute cross-functional expertise, and drive process improvements and organizational updates that positively impact the Sales team.

20% Collaborate with Learning team to design and implement sales training. Champion the continued training for all sales associates.

20% Provide coordination and support to sales incentive programs. This individual will be charged with working closely with the Sales,  Human Resources, and Compensation teams to facilitate the creation and monitor the effectiveness of incentive plans and variable compensation structure.

20% Drive employment retention through the development and implantation of a robust rewards and recognition program.

NATURE AND SCOPE
Reports to the General Manager, HDMS.
Lead effective team of 3-5 direct reports.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

TRAVEL:
Typically requires overnight travel 25%-50%  of the time.
