Credit Risk Analyst

**Job Summary:**

As a credit investigator you will be
expected to handle critical credit-based decisions, recognize potential
fraudulent patterns and be able to de-escalate a challenging customer. This is
a call center environment; applicants can expect moderate call volume while
simultaneously managing both quantity and quality of work performed. The
work is fast paced with potential for growth.

**Primary Responsibilities:**

+ Review new account orders to determine creditworthiness, fraudrisk, and authenticity of new and existing customers to minimize slowpayments or bad debt write-offs.

+ Analyze key factors about the business to determine the level ofinvestigation required (e.g., company data, credit score, SIC code,founded date, demographics, economic conditions, existing paymenttrends).

+ Pull and analyze credit data from various sources to validatebusinesses.

+ Accounts requiring more in-depth investigation, contact customerfor information.

+ Document key credit information for future reference & updatecredit/fraud databases.

+ Communicate with customers to provide an explanation of findingsand, when possible, offer alternative payment methods and options toprocess pending orders.

+ Work with customers to offer ways to increase or improve status forfuture open account consideration.

+ Use system tools and external systems to pull credit data Analyzecustomers accounts and credit information by utilizing account data andother software

+ Use phone system technology to efficiently investigate customers ina timely manner

+ Other related duties as assigned



+ High school diploma or GED

+ Minimum 2 years of related work experience


+ Bachelors Degree

+ Superior ability to interact courteously with customersand ensure interactions are clear and direct

+ Collections experience with large volume accounts

+ Understanding of accounting processes

+ Superior understanding of credit management processes

+ Ability to look at data critically and with a degree ofprofessional skepticism

+ Ability to manage credit responsibilities

+ Ability to critically review and analyze collections

+ Possession of a strong problem-solving mentality

+ Ability to tell a story through data

+ Ability to identify and address concerns before theybecome problems and to propose solutions to the concerns

+ Ability to assess a problem and promptly resolve orescalate it to the supervisor

+ Superior ability to recognize the appropriate style,level of detail, and message for the audience

+ Ability invoke customer action through soliciting,evaluating and acting upon customer interaction

+ Capable of being entrusted with confidentialinformation

+ Confidence when in adversarial situations

+ Strong ability to negotiate and resolve issues/problems

+ Strong dispute management skills

+ Ability to build productive working relationships

+ Strong ability to communicate both orally and inwriting

+ Ability to cooperate with team members and withsupervisor

+ Ability to be flexible with position duties and scopeof work
