POSITION PURPOSE The Catalog Specialist Copywriter develops descriptions for a wide range of products to support the decor catalog. Builds catalog copy on page templates as specified by metadata and merchants; proofs catalog layouts, checking all details against metadata, brand standards and proof corrections to maintain accuracy. Partners with Managers of Creative, Designers, Merchants and Project Manager to delivery print and online-ready catalog pages.MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• 15% Develops and writes original promotional copy for all assigned categories; negotiates with merchants on tone and content to promote and protect the THD brand

  • 15% Develops print ad messaging utilized for direct mail, newsletters, broadcast (radio/TV), outdoor, regional and field marketing, Internet and Newspaper; ensures message is consistent with the Merchandising/Marketing leadership s vision

  • 15% Ensures content development is on time and on budget; self-manages and prioritizes workload; communicates deadline issues to team members and management

  • 15% Serves as a copy and informational resource to internal and external partners; assists other departments with promotional and advertising needs

  • 10% Creates concepts/headlines for advertising campaigns, collaborating with agency and internal partners

  • 10% Actively researches competitors to understand how they are communicating to customers

  • 10% Provides guidance and consults with appropriate resources to adhere to corporate, federal and state regulations

  • 10% Attend category strategy meetings to ensure pages have a focused strategy; responsible for any deliverables from merchant wall walksNATURE AND SCOPE
