**Job Summary**

AECOM is seeking a

**Construction Manager** to be based in our

**Carlsbad, NM** office. This individual will be responsible for development of the scope of work, assist design engineering staff, be an integral part of the team to develop and conduct pre-construction planning, conduct and document weekly construction status meetings, monitor daily construction activities, provide project schedule status and be a lead individual in the turnover and closeout for projects within various Hanford tank farm facilities. Additionally, this individual will assist the buyer to validate and approve contractor invoices and negotiate contract changes.

This individual will act as the primary point of contact assigned to a Project Manager to execute a specific scope of work. In some cases, this individual may perform the role of Buyers Technical Representative (BTR) and be directly involved in all aspects of construction contract management. This person will manage construction projects with a focus on safety, schedule and procedural compliance. Additionally, this person will direct the coordination and communication with subcontractors,

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for work procedures, scheduling, cost control, project specification conformity, establishment of manpower levels, monitoring and implementation of safety programs, project conformance to national, local and/or company building codes and the maintenance of accurate records.

2. Implements the construction portion of the assigned project through day-to-day direction of all field activities and is responsible for all job site activities

3. Ensures timely and efficient execution of fieldwork.

4. Acts as the primary customer contact for all construction project field activities.

5. Ensures all construction is in compliance with design specifications, is completed on schedule, adheres to budget, meets accounting requirements and is built to quality standards.

6. Functions as a Project Manager on a direct-hire construction-only project or as the field manager on an engineering/ procurement/construction management project.

7. Under minimal supervision, manages small to medium size projects or a major geographic area on a mega project.

8. Responsible to a member of the Project Managers job family or the Operations Manager job family.

9. Completed work is reviewed for desired results.

10. Establishes field objectives and procedures within company guidelines as necessitated by conditions at the job site.

11. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.Overall responsibility for cost, schedule and technical performance of the operation.

**Minimum Requirements**

**Minimum requirements:**

+ Bachelor’s degree in a construction related discipline plus 10+ years construction and project related experience.


+ High School/GED plus 18 years construction and project related experience.

+ A thorough knowledge of engineering disciplines, construction technologies and job site management is required.

+ Knowledgeable in mechanical construction and electrical aspects of a project is a must.

+ Experienced in following work procedures, project scheduling, cost control, project specification conformity, monitoring of safety programs and assuring compliance with all state and national building codes.

+ Skilled in preparing and reviewing plans, specifications, drawings and schedules to determine proper construction sequence and priorities.

+ Experience with construction and project management aspects including estimates, budget and scheduling.

+ Knowledgeable with handling work package development and implementation.

+ Prior DOE /Government site related experience required.

+ Familiarity with DOE related health and safety programs such as Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS) and Emergency Management System (EMS).

+ Capable of and willing to work in radiation zones and other high hazard environments including the possibility of wearing various types of respiratory protection.

+ Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be US Citizen.
