2nd Shift DC Assistant Human Resources Manager (HR)

Job Description

The primary purpose of this position is to provide human resources support to internal and external customers including payroll, benefits, record keeping, and employee relations. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.

 

 

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  • Advise distribution center (DC) management on all human resource (HR) decisions and function as both a change agent and an employee advocate to meet DC goals.
  • Supervise the hourly clerical staff in the management of payroll, benefits, reporting, record keeping, and related administrative processes.
  • Administer performance management and review progress for all hourly and salaried associates, including both career development and progressive discipline.
  • Implement DC policies, procedures, and practices consistent with corporate guidelines and government regulations.
  • Provide generalist HR support in the form of staffing, training, and safety management (as applicable) and related projects as assigned by Department Manager.

Experience / Requirements

Minimum age of 21 years due to work environment and business travel requirements.Ability to pass drug test.Committed to providing customer service that makes both internal and external customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated.Ability to preserve confidentiality of information.Ability and willingness to move with purpose and a strong sense of urgency.Ability to work weekends on an occasional basis.Ability to work extended days on a frequent basis.Ability to work day or evening hours.Accuracy and attention to detail.Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks/projects.Ability to work within strict time frames and resolute deadlines.Proficiency with the Microsoft® Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).

Education

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in human resources or related field, plus a minimum of three to five(3- 5) years experience in human resources management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
