**Position Title** Traffic and Transportation Engineer

**Job Summary**

The Traffic Engineer will be responsible for the delivery of traffic engineering, local transport, urban design/street scape schemes in our Traffic and Local Roads team, with a particular focus on cycling infrastructure.

**Job Duties:**

+ Undertake traffic engineering studies from feasibility to preliminary design

+ Assist in the preparation of fee proposals and contribute to major bids.

+ Ensure technical content and quality of output produced is in line with the project brief.

+ Manage sub-consultants to produce deliverables against agreed timescales and in line with budget.

+ Sharing knowledge and supporting team

+ Familiar with relevant Health and Safety regulations and to promote a culture of awareness within the team.

+ Following successful accreditation on the AECOM project management system act as a Project Manager including monitoring financial performance. Comprehensive training on AECOM’s project management system will be provided.

+ Ensure technical content and quality of output produced is in line with the project brief.

+ Assist with the preparation preliminary or detailed design and project delivery of traffic engineering, local transport, urban design/streetscape and local authority/municipal highway schemes

+ Assist with the preparation of detailed technical reports providing specialist technical contributions as required.

**Specific Skills Required :**

+ Relevant experience working in Ireland or the UK, in the design and management of traffic and transportation projects including road/street design, junction design, cycle/pedestrian facility design, traffic modelling, planning and public transport projects.

+ Familiar with DMURS, Cycle Manual, DMRB, and AutoCAD (or similar).

+ Must speak fluent English and be eligible to work in Ireland.

+ Good inter-personal, analytical, communication, problem solving and organisational skills.

+ Driving license

+ Required to work on a wide range of Transportation and Infrastructural Projects, including National Road Schemes, Urban Street Design, and Sustainable Transport Design including bus corridors, light rail, pedestrian and cycle Infrastructure Design.

We would consider the role on either a full or part-time basis and are happy to look at a range of different working patterns.

**Minimum Requirements**


+ Demonstrate experience and knowledge of developing feasibility and preliminary design schemes.

+ Knowledge and experience in some of the following aspects: cycling, walking, bus priority, traffic calming, parking and junction design.

+ Knowledge of local and national design standards.

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ HND, Degree or Master or equivalent qualification in an analytical subject such as Engineering, Mathematics or Geography
