AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and motivated Traffic and ITS Department Manager for immediate employment in the Raleigh, NC office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Provide leadership to three group managers and a growing group of professionals in the Traffic and ITS Department

+ Provide QA/QC for traffic analyses, modeling, and design project

+ QA/QC complex reports for internal and external review

+ Develop scope and fee estimate on various projects/task orders

+ Interacts regularly with clients to expand work assignments or market new work

+ Preparing marketing materials and making calls to potential new clients

+ Assists with proposals to provide services or obtain funding for engineering projects or programs

+ Collaborates with other engineers to research, analyze, or resolve complex transportation analyses or design issues

+ Participates in public meetings or hearings to explain planning proposals, to gather feedback from those affected by projects, or to achieve consensus on project design

+ Presenting information for review by technical and non-technical audiences

+ Understanding trends and best practices in the transportation industry

+ Provide a direction to the Traffic and ITS group by embracing new technologies like autonomous and connected vehicles, Hyperloop and others

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering

+ 10+ years of experience in traffic engineering focusing on microsimulation

+ NC PE or ability to obtain through reciprocity in 3 months required

+ Must have a broad understanding and experience in various aspects of Traffic and ITS areas including, Traffic Analysis, Traffic Modeling (TransModeler or VISSIM), Traffic Forecasting, Traffic Noise, Traffic Safety, Signal Design, Signal Timing, and ITS

+ Thorough understanding of microsimulation guidelines / procedures / policies

+ Ability to scope / estimate complex projects

+ Track and manage task budgets and schedules

+ Demonstrate leadership skills and communication skills requiring client interaction

+ Ability to work with various multi-disciplined teams is essential to this role

+ Familiar with MicroStation/AutoCAD and software like Synchro, HCS, SIDRA, CORSIM, TransModeler and VISSIM

+ Ability to be financially responsible for projects being managed by the Department

+ Project Management capabilities

+ Business Acumen to lead the department and ability to develop strategy and vision for the department

+ Must possess a valid driver’s license

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Master's Degree in Civil Engineering

+ 12+ years of experience in traffic engineering focusing on microsimulation

+ PTOE Certification
