The Strategic Sourcing Department has an opening for a Sourcing Specialist. This position is located in Boise, Idaho.

The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for supporting the sourcing department by organizing and overseeing all tasks related to the various sourcing processes and activities that support the Sr. Analysts, Managers and Sr. Managers with their sourcing activities for in-store packaging, finished goods, supplies, capital and non-capital items/projects.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Initiate and complete vendor set-up documentation.
•Assist with cost change forms from suppliers and route through the organization’s system.
•Ensure maintenance of price changes and vendor record updates are completed.
•Initiate setup of new items and request item maintenance.
•Input data accurately into multiple systems and responsible for ensuring on-time completion of all forms.
•Collect samples from suppliers to assist the team with category reviews.
•Provide customer service to our stores when supply questions arise.
•Support Sourcing Manager(s) as needed with their categories.
•Support Safeway personnel to resolve vendor invoice price discrepancy, product delays and/or shortages with incumbent supplier.
•Support vendor transitions when required, by monitoring liabilities, enabling vendor set-up and ensuring correct order placement.
•Analyze inventory liabilities on discontinued product.
•Ensuring that correct processes are being followed for SOX compliance.
•Project support as required for the department.
•Willingness to travel as requested to attend various offsite meetings including Safeway offices or plants, and supplier manufacturing plants.

Qualifications:
•AA required, 4-year BA degree preferred but not required; preferably in Business.
•1-2 years of fast paced detail oriented work with multiple priorities and demanding deadlines.
•Preferably 1-2 years of purchasing and negotiating experience.
•Computer proficiency and knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Access.
•Comfortable working with multiple systems with different user interfaces.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills.
•High degree of initiative with strong organizational, analytical and creative problem solving skills
•Basic understanding of manufacturing, distribution and logistics.
•Strong customer support and ability to work with cross functional teams.
•Ability to work independently and with a team.
•Ability to understand legal documents.
•Detail oriented
•High energy level and sense of urgency.
•Excellent team interpersonal skills and ability to handle multiple tasks while providing superior service.
