**Job Summary**

AECOM is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (EE), with extensive substation automation systems (SAS) experience, to join our team based in Los Angeles, California. As a senior EE, you will bring at least 10 years applicable engineering and design experience and possess the ability to make independent engineering design decisions. Your time will be spent working in an office and electric utility environment, including field work.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

+ Assist lead Electrical Engineer, Project Managers, and our customers to ensure that electrical engineering scope of work is clearly defined for each project

+ Provide training of customer’s electrical engineers in SAS and related substation design elements

+ Perform electrical design and engineering functions for electrical substations in accordance with relevant codes and standards

+ Perform detailed design activities including one-line diagrams, three line diagrams, schematics, equipment specifications (conductor size, junction boxes, circuit breakers, fuses, disconnects), cable pulling calculations, voltage drop, etc.

+ Perform plant level electrical studies including load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, protective coordination, and arc flash studies

+ Stamp & Seal drawings as the responsible Electrical Engineer Of Record

+ Preparation of electrical engineering reports, calculations, drawings, and studies

+ Provide engineering support and associated training of junior engineers during construction, start-up, and commissioning

+ Perform field investigation work in an industrial environment

+ Provide support for manufacturer Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)

+ Work on electrical engineering projects that may not be directly related to HV Substation Design

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university

+ 10+ years of experience, preferably in the electric utility industry

+ Registered Professional Electrical Engineer in the State of California

+ Ability to train junior and mid-level electrical engineers in SAS designs and operations

+ Ability to read, understand, and develop complex high voltage and distribution-level substation engineering drawings

+ Very strong knowledge of the relevant codes and standards such as IEEE, NFPA, IEC, etc.

+ Very strong knowledge of electrical protective relaying and control

+ Familiarity with electric utility SCADA and PLC hardware and software applications

+ Proven track record of working in an engineering team environment

+ Ability to meet project schedules

+ Basic knowledge of Cyber Security and Critical Infrastructure Protection

+ Knowledge of Major Electrical Power and Industrial System Applications

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Very strong knowledge of SCADA protocols like DNP 3.0 , Modbus RTU

+ Experienced Configuring processor based protective relays, SEL relays are preferred

+ Experience testing relays

+ Computer software/hardware knowledge, including experience using drafting software such as Microstation

+ Strong problem solving skills and work efficiency

+ Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously

+ Ability to travel as dictated by project requirements

+ Good oral communication skills

+ Able to write clearly and concisely to prepare reports, specifications, training materials, and correspondence

+ Experience in the municipal electric utility industry (transmission and distribution)
