**Job Summary**

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and motivated Senior Architect for immediate employment in the Arlington, VA office.

Our Arlington Transportation practice is truly multi-disciplinary with a strong focus on providing collaborative and holistic solutions to transportation and the built environment.We work on a wide range of local and national transportation projects. The ability to work successfully with other engineering disciplines at various locations, both internal and external to AECOM is a necessity. This position involves working with a close-knit team of design professionals where effective communication is an important and essential part of the job.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Coordinate and support leadership of transportation projects with multi-disciplinary teams of architects, engineers, and consultants.

+ Coordinate workload of internal and external team members through multiple phases to complete documents on schedule

+ Develop and coordinate design solutions complying with local codes, client guidelines, and AECOM standards

+ Prepare program analysis, life safety code analysis, concept designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic design, design development, construction drawings, and project specifications

+ Review architectural documents for interface with all disciplines

+ Develop solutions to complex technical problems

+ Support proposal efforts in drafting project scopes, schedules, and budgets

+ Perform other duties as needed

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor Degree in Architecture (B.Arch)from an accredited university

+ 10+ years of experience in large buildings or infrastructure projects

+ Licensed Architect, eligible for MD, DC or VA registration

+ Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Microstation, SketchUp, and MS Office

+ Exhibits leadership traits and has experience leading a design team with successful outcomes

+ Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities

+ Demonstrates the ability to prioritize tasks on a daily basis

+ Excellent interpersonal skills and internal/external networking skills

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Proven organization skills and track record in meeting deliverable and deadline requirements

+ Must be highly self-motivated with the ability to successfully multi-task, perform detail-oriented work, work independently with minimum supervision, and demonstrate effective time management skills

+ Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Experience with transit passenger stations and maintenance facilities

+ Experience with transit passenger stations and maintenance facilities

+ Working knowledge of the Northern Virginia and DC Metro markets

+ Experience in proposal preparation and business development

+ Adobe Suite, proficiency (particularly Illustrator) experience a plus
