**Job Summary**

The purpose of these multiple positions is to provide railway asset management and productivity improvement specialist role in projects primarily involving improvement of performance of bulk commodities supply chain. Applying the understanding of operation of railway assets (below and above rail) and its interfaces with the adjoining assets at the terminals, the role requires identification of opportunities to enhance asset productivity and efficiency of supply chain operations. This requires but not limited to collaboration with various other parties associated with the operations and rail asset maintenance as well as application of data management and analytical skills.

* Take lead in area of rail asset management/productivity improvement and collaborate with other parties, to produce project deliverables to agreed deadlines and standards.

* Provide high quality service to internal and/or external customers in all areas of responsibility.

* Effectively manage any personnel and resources within his/her team whilst acting as lead on a project.

* Lead production of technical deliverables in the areas of railway asset maintenance/management/productivity enhancement and undertake review and checking for all related disciplines as required.

* Promote innovation and ensure the best engineering practices and design tools are applied.

* Assist in the development of colleagues by applying high level of technical skill.

* Develop and maintain client relationships at the project and broader organisational level and promote business development opportunities.

* Assist in bid preparation and bid management for medium and large opportunities as required.

**Minimum Requirements**

* Minimum 4 to 10 years’ experience in a railway asset maintenance/management and operational improvement or productivity enhancement roles related to an existing freight and/or passenger railways within WA or wider Australia.

* Knowledge of railway operations, assets and their maintenance or management systems inter-relationship of operations with the asset management/maintenance.

* Knowledge of various engineering elements of a fully functional railway, including electrified passenger railway and/or pit to port heavy haul railway will be highly regarded. This includes understanding of interfaces and interactions with key disciplines such as terminals, maintenance facilities, signalling, communication and rolling stock and external stakeholders.

* Demonstrated contribution to the delivery of successful railway related projects.

* Communication skills – clear written and oral communication, able to communicate at all levels.

* Excellent analytic and problem solving skills.

* Innovative thinking and ability to influence others for change.

**Preferred Qualifications**

* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

* Membership of a relevant professional institution. Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or equivalent overseas professional recognition is preferable.
