**Job Summary**

The Macedonia Support Initiative (MSI) is a USAID-funded program that seeks to create space for inclusive and pluralistic civic engagement. As Macedonia recovers from a prolonged political crisis, the country faces a pivotal moment during which key democratic institutions must make tangible and timely contributions to the national reform agenda. The program works closely with civil society organizations, media groups, and government institutions to increase access to a diversified, robust media landscape, and support citizens to effectively leverage diversified civic actions. MSI is recruiting for a **Program and Reporting Officer (PRO)** to support the programming and reporting activities of the MSI program.

**Roles & Responsibilities**

MSI is a team-driven environment. All employees are expected to support colleagues in duties outside of his/her scope of work, participate in program meetings and strategy discussions, contribute to a culture of learning, share ideas, and conduct political and social analysis. Long and short term staff will coordinate with all relevant partners to execute their SOW. Working under the supervision of the MSI Chief of Party (COP), the PRO will be expected to collaborate and coordinate with all members of the team. S/he will play a lead role in activity development, grant writing and the project’s communications and reporting activities. The following responsibilities are not exhaustive and do not cover every task or duty that might be assigned, as necessary, by the Chief of Party (COP).

+ In support of the strategic vision set by USAID, work alongside the COP to grow and maintain a grants portfolio that demonstrates responsiveness to the Macedonian context and program objectives

+ Utilize strong interpersonal skills, support program staff in activity development, grant writing, and ensuring effective and compliant implementation of program strategy

+ Utilize information from program staff, grantees, the USAID activity database, as well as monitoring and evaluation reports, to compile appropriate reporting on program status and impact, including weekly reports, semi-annual reports, annual reports, and ad hoc reports on how the program responds to particular issues

+ Utilize local and international media, project and policy reports, and other open source documents to compile appropriate reporting on political and social trends on issues of local, national and regional importance – including provision of ad hoc reporting that explores the impact of critical events and real-time reporting on trends to inform activity pivots

+ Support activity-level monitoring and relevant reporting at each stage of project development, implementation, and close-out

+ Utilize and synthesize data (provided through social analytics and research services) in order to identify trends and inform programming

+ Provide visual content reviews, including providing project team members and grantees with guidance on product design, visuals and ensuring adherence to USAID branding standards

+ Ensure database accuracy, consistency and completeness, per USAID guidance including ensuring that the relevant staff use and maintain the activity database on a timely basis with consistent and complete information

+ Ensure proper preparation and filing of all grant documents and updates of the USAID and AECOM activity databases are happening in an accurate and timely way

+ In coordination with the COP and USAID and on an as-needed basis, assist in the adaptation, updating and implementation of project grant-making and grants management policies, procedures, and practices

+ Manage or serve as the lead-liaison with one-two program staff as program need dictates

**Minimum Requirements**

+ The PRO must have the capacity to understand analyze political, social and media trends to be able to reflect that analysis in reporting and appropriately support the program staff in activity development that relates to the current political environment

+ Strong interpersonal skills are critical to this position – inclusive of an ability to work with culturally diverse staff and maintain an inclusive and positive attitude in a high-pace workplace

+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, to prioritize multiple work assignments in a fast-paced environment, to meet deadlines, and to exercise good, professional judgment that communicates the established message of the Macedonia Support Initiative and USAID engagement in Macedonia

+ Demonstrated writing abilities in presenting stories and data to a variety of audiences in clear and concise ways

+ Demonstrated ability to use technical and second-language documents to craft engaging and informative communication products

+ A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and database programs is required

+ At least one year of experience working in international development is required, preferably in fragile or transitional states

+ Experience writing program summaries, success stories, and monitoring media coverage is highly desired

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Previous USAID experience
