Albertsons-Safeway is looking for highly motivated candidates with a willingness to excel and the leadership qualities needed to successfully complete the Leadership Development 2 Program (LDP2).

The purpose of the LDP2 program is to develop exempt Grocery Managers who will soon be taking the step into the Store Director role. These individuals will lead our Division into the future by delivering superior customer service, achieving expected operating results and being a leader/coach for their store team. Openings in the program are based on Division needs, not individual District needs. The program is individualized, and each trainee is assigned to an exceptional Store Director mentor for nine weeks. This Store Director mentor will serve as a coach, leader and trainer for the participant as he/she progresses through the training.

The participant will train in two phases, the first being a nine week rotational program to experience and learn all store departments. The second phase will come at a later time, where the participant will meet and interact with Division support, marketing, executive and finance teams to hone their skills. The two phases operate independently from each other.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICANTS:
• Current exempt Albertsons or Safeway Grocery Manager within the Denver Division
• Strong desire to become a Store Director within the next 6 months
• Must be available to work a variety of hours and days of the week
• Must have Store Director and District Manager endorsement

SELECTION PROCESS:
For individuals who meet the minimum qualifications, the following selection process will occur:

Talent Development will forward both items to your District Manager. District Managers will then decide which candidates participate based on accomplishments, merit, division need and timing.

SALARY:
No salary changes will occur with program participation and Grocery Managers will stay tied to their home store so as to not impact bonus potential.

STORE DIRECTOR OPENINGS/APPLICATION:
LDP2 participants who complete the program will still need to search and apply for any Store Director opening they wish to be considered for. You will not be automatically considered for any opening.
