**Job Summary**

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly motivated Civil / Planning Engineer with an emphasis on Municipal design, planning and permitting for immediate employment in the Burnaby, BC office to support our award winning Transportation and Oil and Gas EPCM clients. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Manage a small team of individuals containing technologists, controllers and professional engineers to develop, maintain and deliver multi-discipline feasibility reports, working in a large Oil and gas commercial delivery program

+ Produce deliverables, including reports material, oversight of drawings and presentations, assist with schedules and costing schemes

+ Develop site layout options and work with the client to establish agreed path forwardfrom conceptual layout through development to final version

+ Demonstrated project and client management expertise

+ Ability to build innovative municipal, regional and provincial permitting strategies for up to 20 commercial projects annually

+ Lead and support business development pursuits and proposal preparations

+ Management of clients, schedules and multi-discipline project delivery teams

+ Ability to meet challenging project deadlines and handle multiple tasks

+ Experience shall include participation with program team members on project work including public/ private projects with an emphasis on municipal, transportation, community and retail space design and planning

+ Conduct research to support planning policy and land development work such as economic, demographic, and transportation forecasts, as required

+ Work with various municipalities and stakeholders to achieve streamlined permitting applications for clients

+ Travel to various locations in Canada to support the delivery program

+ Oversee various design disciplines through the project delivery cycle

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor's Degree in Civil engineering or related discipline

+ 8+ years or relevant experience

+ Ability to build relationships and work with various Canadian municipalities for permitting and development approvals process

+ Ability to organize charrettes, workshops with clients and various stakeholder groups

+ Working knowledge of the Local Government Act

+ Competent in the use of Microsoft Office software, especially Excel and Word

+ Can perform well in a team setting plus work independently

+ Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Masters’ Degree in Civil engineering or related discipline

+ Professional Engineer or Planner

+ Competent in Autodesk products and MS Project
