**Job Summary**

Currently we are actively seeking a creative and highly talented **Hydraulics & Drainage Junior Designers** for **newly established GDS** based in Warsaw

The key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;

+ Independently preparing design calculations or reports for hydraulic and drainage designs.

+ Verifying that applicable codes and engineering standards practices are being met.

+ Resolving issues or problems concerning with conflicting design requirements, specifications and or difficult coordination requirements.

+ Performing constructability reviews of designs.

+ Working as part of a Hydraulics & Drainage team with other designers at the same functional level.

+ Interacts sporadically with internal client.

+ Identifying discrepancies, incoherencies and format errors in results.

+ Proposing new options to afford new technical problems.

+ Assisting with technical proposals to provide services

+ Receiving instruction on specific assignments, objectives, complex features and possible solutions.

+ Assignments have clear and specific objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables.

+ Independently evaluating, selecting and applying standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.

+ Assigning tasks to and directs engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.

+ Supervising calculations by less experienced staff.

+ Training less experienced staff.

+ Comply with statutory, project and AECOM-specific health and safety requirements.

+ Based from Warsaw, the availability to travel could be required to go to other GDC offices and international clients’ offices

Specific Skills :

+ Working knowledge on at least one of the following sub-disciplines: flood risk analysis; drainage design for linear infrastructures (culverts, channels, scour protection, etc.); water utilities (storm water & wastewater / water supply / Irrigation, etc.); storage devices & pumping stations; etc.

+ Experience with international codes and standards related to hydraulics and drainage design.

+ Proficiency in using several of the software packages associated to at least one of the following sub disciplines:

+ Hydrologic/hydraulic and flood risk engineering: DHI Mike 21/FM/Flood, Infoworks ICM, Hec-RAS, Hec-HMS, etc.

+ Drainage and stormwater / Wastewater: SWMM, Infoworks CS, SewerGEMs, MikeUrban, HY8, Hydraulic ToolBox, SSA, etc.

+ Pressurized pipes (water supply and irrigation): EPANET, WaterCAD, WaterGEMs, Water Hammer, WANDA, etc.

+ Proven commitment with Quality Control Policy and Quality Management System.

+ **Fluent in English and Polish (oral and written)**

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Min. 4 years of experience in civil and infrastructure projects, working on hydraulic and drainage schemes.

+ Experience working in the North America region will be considered favorably

+ US Professional Engineer license will be considered favorably

+ Working knowledge and understanding of the external environment that influences success

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised University
