About this Opportunity
As a Global Account Manager, you'll be responsible for the total global revenue of assigned large accounts, regardless of location. You will guide the worldwide strategy for assigned global accounts to achieve volume goals through the development and maintenance of long-term relationships with select global customers, including multi-national accounts, with dealer support.

  • Conduct all sales activities and processes within the parameters of the Herman Miller selling process, utilizing the corporate tools and resources provided.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain account strategies and business plans for products and services and forecast account potential globally.
  • Maintain Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) information so the Global Sales Director can accurately complete monthly forecasts of expected sales volume by account and/or by product line.
  • Manage within the assigned expense budget.
  • Network within Herman Miller sales and dealer organizations to ensure support in all sales regions that provide services to an account.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
  • Provide leadership in the selling process and integrate all aspects of the selling platform.
  • Provide reports as required.
  • Strategically partner with customers and integrate business aptitude by adding value during the sale, selling value over price globally.

You might be just who we’re looking for if you have...
  • A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. An equivalent level of experience will also be considered.
  • Five or more years of successful selling experience with Herman Miller, or three or more years of national account responsibility within the contract furniture industry.
  • A thorough knowledge of Herman Miller global products and services and how they solve problems. You should also have an extensive and thorough knowledge of competing global products, as well as the ability to distinguish Herman Miller products and services from the competition.
  • Knowledge of Herman Miller resources and how to access them in achieving and orchestrating combined Herman Miller and customer interactions.
  • Advanced selling skills, including qualifying prospects, lead generation, new business development, account penetration, strategic selling, conceptual selling, issues-based selling, consultative selling, negotiation, and contracts (closing).
  • Highly developed organizational and problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate (in actual or virtual situations) and negotiate.
  • The ability to be an assertive self-starter with the self-confidence and ability to represent Herman Miller in a professional manner.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment at all levels of the organization and the ability to build long-term relationships with customers and partners.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities with a strong emphasis on listening, presenting, and facilitating.
  • Demonstrated high personal performance standards, the desire and ability to continuously learn, and a results-oriented work style.
  • A demonstrated high level of integrity, business ethics, and leadership skills.
  • Financial literacy and business acumen. You should be astute in your understanding of the financial implications of decision-making in regard to capital expenditures, cost of ownership models, ROI, leasing, etc.
  • Expertise within a dealer environment with sales planning capabilities. You will provide leadership to dealers in pursuing customer relationships.
  • The ability to effectively use the office automation, communication, software, and tools used in the Herman Miller office environment.
  • A willingness to travel with cross-cultural sensitivity.
  • The ability to perform all essential job functions of the position with or without accommodations.
