**Job Summary**

The Associate will provide leadership on projects within the Design Planning and Economics (DP+E) group and have proven skills and experience in the field of urban planning and development. The role will require the Associate to deliver a range of strategic planning and master planning projects by contributing to the conception of creative, contextually responsive and economically viable urban planning strategies and solutions.

**Job Duties:**

+ Provide technical expertise and administration for a range of projects, including strategic planning, land use planning and master planning.

+ Lead multi-disciplinary teams of planners, urban designers, landscape architects and engineers to complete land development, master planning and strategic planning projects.

+ Prepare presentations for ultimate delivery to clients, stakeholders and government (approving agencies) to advance understanding of projects, approvals for: development, master plans, development guidelines and policies.

+ Liaise with government agencies and other authorities as may be required regarding development objectives, policies and procedures.

+ Ensure compliance with the company’s Quality Assurance policies and procedures

+ Identification and pursuit of business development opportunities.

+ Prepare proposals and qualification documents in the interest of obtaining new assignments.

+ Provide such further assistance to senior management, the Strategic Planning and Economic Development Team and the wider Design + Planning studio as may be required from time to time.

+ Provide effective representation for the Organization, developing and managing relationships with the client and other local authorities.

**Specific Skills Required :**

+ Have experience of working on UK residential and mixed use development masterplans in an Urban Design or Masterplan role;

+ Have a strong design background, preferably with experience working in a consultancy environment;

+ Have an understanding of Architecture and Landscape Architecture and an ability to develop detailed codes and 3D briefs;

+ Have excellent written communication, presentation and negotiation skills, including an interest in community engagement;

+ Have an interest in Business Development;

+ Be able to produce high quality hand drawings and have a strong eye for detail;

+ Have excellent team-working skills;

+ Have an ability to manage their own time, workload and meet tight deadlines; and

+ At Senior level, be proficient in CAD or 3D computer modelling skills and Sketch-up fluent;

+ At Senior level, be proficient in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Microsoft Office;

+ The ability to take the lead on projects, support more junior members of staff and develop client relationships is essential. An existing client contact base would also be highly desirable

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Relevent experience is required in urban planning should be in the Middle East region or context.

+ Experience working in government, consultancy and client-side is preferred.

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, geography and/or a related discipline is essential.

+ Master’s level degree in urban planning, urban design or a related discipline is preferred.
